Dataran Tahsim, Dataran Tahrir & Dataran Merdeka

Hari ni Dataran Taksim Turki dikejutkn dgn penunjuk perasaan. FRU 'berperang' dgn penunjuk perasaan. 

Haritu Dataran Tahrir Mesir yg tak sudah-sudah penuh dgn pendemo walau sapapun yg naik. Itupun cerita yg dah dekat setahun lebih dah.

Soalan sekarang? Agak-agak bila pulak la Dataran Merdeka. Satu yg pasti bila melihat kepada demo @ penunjuk perasaan adalah satu aktiviti yg tidak mendatangkan faedah kepada agama, masyarakat & negara. 

Agenda yg digerakkan oleh org tempatan & disokong secara tak langsung oleh Kuasa Besar luar utk pastikan ketidakstabilan politik berlaku. Agenda? Agenda yg sama utk memporak perandakan negara islam dlm pada tu boleh memberikan 'influence' kepada kerajaan yg konon pilihan rakyat. 

Kemudian hasilnya pulak akan wujud negara seperti IRAQ yg tak putus-putus dgn perang saudara yg berlanjutan. Blok minyak di IRAQ dibedak-bedak sesama negara Mereka & hasil ditarah sebanyak mungkin. Kontrak & aktiviti pulak

Majoriti di kaut oleh syarikat berkepentingan. 

Malaysia! Rakyat Malaysia! Adakah ini yg kita nak? Adakah kita suka utk mengkhianati pemerintah yg sah? Adakah kita bersekongkol utk gulingkan pemerintahan Islam! Pada yg masih berakal & beriman pakat-pakat muhasabah..

Kisah Tragik Amirul...

Pertama kali meh kita sedekahkan al-fatihah kepada allahyarham Amirul..

Kisah yg berlaku terhadap Amirul amat tragik sekali. Macamana seorg yg baru 15 tahun mati tertembak @ ditembak polis. Mencari salah siapa bukan caranya tetapi kita perlu mengetahui pandangan kedua-dua pihak.

Perjalanan peristiwa tersebut yg penuh dgn adegan kejar mengejar, kemalangan jalan raya, kereta bergesal, motosikal mengejar & juga akhirnya melibatkan polis akan menimbulkan persepsi awal yg negatif jika kita berada di tempat kejadian. Malah kita mesti akan memikirkan sesuatu yg tidak kena kepada pemandu & kereta tersebut sehinggakan kejar-mengejar berlaku yg berakhir tragik.

Dari satu segi pula, Amirul bersama rakan dikatakan keluar curi-curi utk minum menonton bola dgn memandu kereta kakaknya tanpa lesen, tanpa kebenaran & juga pengetahuan ibu bapa. Beliau juga dikatakan panik, langgar lari & ingkar arahan polis utk berhenti yg akhirnya membawa kepada tragedi tragik tersebut. Remaja yg baru berusia 15thn mati akibat peluru sesat yg disasarkan kepada tayar kereta berkenaan. Masyallah.. Mmg tragik peristiwa tersebut & amat jarang2 berlaku di negara kita.

Dalam pada itu seperti biasa akan terdapat segelintir 'oppurtunist' yg cuba mengeskploitasi keadaan tersebut utk menyemai semangat kebencian terhadap agensi penguatkuasa iaitu PDRM. Pada hemat cek, pihak keluarga berkenaan perlu redo dgn apa yg berlaku & dalam pada itu meminta Suruhanjaya Diraja ditubuhkan bagi mencari kebenaran terhadap isu tersebut. Mungkin cadangan drpd Suruhanjaya ini boleh digunakan utk menambah baik sistem kepolisan negara.

Jgnlah kita menyalahkan PDRM atas apa yg berlaku. Kejadian seperti ini amat dikesali ttp ini tidak menggambarkan keseluruhan 'professionalisme' badan berkenaan. Akhir kata, tolong pantau anak-anak kita, adik-adik kita & jaga tepi kain jiran2 utk mengelakkan keadaan seperti ini berlaku.

PPSMI Antara Harapan & Realilti

Salam.

Pertama kalinya saya panjatkan kesyukuran kerana Kabinet telah membatalkan "Pengajaran Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran Sains dan Matematik dalam Bahasa Inggeris" @ PPSMI.

Harapan

Perlu dilihat pada tahun 2003 dibawah Tun Dr Mahathir dasar ini diperkenalkan. Ia diperkenalkan bertujuan murni iaitu utk melihat bangsa Malaysia berdaya saing di peringkat global sejajar dgn trend Globalisasi dunia. Pada ketika itu penentangan PPSMI tidak sehebat mana. Malah ramai yg bersetuju dgn cadangan tersebut atas dasar & harapan kerajaan yg dinyatakan sebelum ini.

Terdapat sedikit kecacatan diwaktu perlaksanaan PPSMI sewaktu itu. Antaranya adalah kekurangan guru yg mahir dalam kedua2 matapelajaran PPSMI. Apa2pun kita perlu tahu perlaksanaan PPSMI adalah usaha murni kerajaan utk meningkatkan daya saing rakyat terhadap pasaran global.

ATAS Dasar Itu Ramai Menyokong Perlaksanaan PPSMI (saya juga)

Realiti

Setelah hampir 6 tahun PPSMI diperkenalkan, tahun demi tahun pemantauan dibuat utk melihat keberkesanannya. Realitinya ternyata program PPSMI tidak berjaya & tidak mencapat sasaran terutama sekali bila melibatkan kawasan pedalaman.

Mungkin ramai yg kecewa & mungkin ramai yg suka. Pada dasarnya saya menentang PPSMI bukan kerana bahasa jiwa bangsa, bukan kerana takut kepada kedudukan BM & bukan kerana politik sepeti PAS. Tetapi adalah kerana memikirkan nasib pelajar Luar bandar jika PPSMI diteruskan.

Kita sudah sedia maklum Subjek Bahasa Inggeris sendiri menjadi Tabo' kepada kebanyakan pelajar luar bandar, jadi adakah menjadi kan PPSMI sebagai sandaran adalah langkah bijak. Kita juga tahu yg serba serbi pelajar luar bandar adalah terkebelakang maka dgn adanya polisi ini akan menyebabkn mereka lebih ketinggalan. Bila pemberian biasiswa nnti adalah berdasarkan merit jadi dimana pelajar2 luar bandar kita?

Seperti kita suruh lumba lari 100m antara budak umur 15 (pelajar dlm bandar) vs 12 tahun (pelajar luar bandar). Kemudian pelajar 15 tahun tu pulak dapat training dr guru sukan profesional.. Itulah keadaannya.. Jika PPSMI diteruskan & berdasarkan statistic makin tinggilah kadar drop-out dikalangan pelajar luar bandar & makin tinggilah jurang antara pelajar bandar & luar bandar.

Dan dengan keadaan sekarang Polisi Kerajaan yg cenderung memberi bantuan biasiswa berdasarkan merit maka tak mustahil rata2 yg menerima biasiswa ini merupakan pelajar bandar yg berkemampuan.

Isu PPSMI diharap tidak dipolitikkan. Ia hanya merupakan Harapan murni Tun Mahathir @ kerajaan terdahulu. Tetapi Realitinya PPSMI jelas tidak menguntungkan majoriti Pelajar malaysia terutama pelajar luar bandar.

Coret-coret DAP - Gantung Gobind & Wilayah Dikembalikan ke Selangor?

USUL GANTUNG AHLI PARLIMEN PUCHONG.

"KAMU PEMBUNUH" Inilah kata-kata Ahli Parlimen Puchong (Gobind Singh Deo) di Parlimen baru-baru ini. Sungguh mengejutkan & tidak beradab (bapak borak anak rintik). Dahulu bapanya Karpal Sigh bertindak menuduh "Celaka" Pemuda UMNO yg mengirimkan peluru kepada beliau yg mengundang ketegangan di Parlimen baru-baru ini.

Fitnah & tomahan. Inilah mainan DAP & segelintir pimpinan PR (juga percubaan Azmin Ali di DUN Selangor). Alhamdulillah, setakat ini saya tidak dgr perkataan @ tuduhan liar dimainkn oleh pemimpin PAS bila bercakap mengenai isu Najib (moga2 berpanjangan). Seperti yg umat Islam tahu terdapat sepotong hadis @ al-quran yaitu :

"Dosa fitnah lebih besar dari membunuh"

Jadi janganlah kita bertindak untuk bercakap mengenainya @ menyebarkan kerana kemungkinan kita mempunyai saham 'fitnah' di akhirat kelak. Mintak simpang dunia & akhirat.

Saya amat menyokong 'Usul Penggantungan Gobind'. Jelas terdapat segelintir ahli Parlimen menggunakan kekebalan @ imuniti Ahli Parlimen utk berckp sesuka hati & menfitnah sesiapa yg tidak disukai. Adalah menjadi amat membimbangkan perkara ini diucapkan di Dewan yg mulia itu. Fitnah, tomahan, maki hamun & lain2 telah menjadi amat sinonim dgn ahli2 Dewan. Adakah ini yg rakyat mahukan? Adakah kualiti Ahli Parlimen ini yg di sanjung.

Bayangkan jika sikap seperti ini diikuti & menjadi ikutan anak muda. Antara contoh yg mungkin berlaku hasil ketaksuban kepada parti politik & pemimpinlah bilamana ada yg dihadapkan di Mahkamah diatas menghina Sultan. Yg menjadi lebih malangnya dalam 3/4 adalah merupakan anak2 Melayu sendiri. Tahniah PAS, PKR & DAP. Dimana pemimpin2 PR bila mereka2 ini didakwa? Adakah pembelaan diberikan?

Mungkin cadangan MP Datuk Ibrahim Ali utk menghapuskan imuniti Ahli Parlimen perlu diambil dgn lebih serius.

CADANGAN DAP UTK MENGAMBIL SEMULA WILAYAH PERSEKUTUAN.

Cadangan untuk mengambil semula wilayah dilihat sebagai amat biasa. Disokongi oleh hujah2 yg nampak masuk akal secara tersurat. Tetapi jika diteliti dgn lebih mendalam, cadangan tersebut nampak cantik utk DAP secara tersirat. Telah sedia maklum, kebanyakan kerusi Parlimen di Wilayah adalah dikuasai oleh DAP. Jika ini berlaku bermaksud secara automatik DAP lah yg akan memperolehi kuasa majoriti kpd kerajaan campuran PR di Selangor.

Maka terbitlah satu lagi kuasa campuran seperti Perak di Selangor jika ia berlaku. Bayangkan jika Kerajaan Pusat diperintah oleh PR. Tak mustahil Wilayah dikembalikan ke Selangor & bergembiralah anak2 Melayu diperintah oleh MB Boneka seperti di Perak dahulu.

Murder of Palestinian by Israeli Force

The world has been shaken again by recent military strike on Gaza soil in recent weeks. Countless air-strikes endlessly attacking Gaza street & lands.
Since then, peoples around the world condemn this attack. By today total of Palestinian died was 390 (24 kids among the dead) & 1900 people wounded. As the body count of the dead Palestinians keeps on growing what is the people’s of the world doing?

Even a statement from U.S representative shows that they are actually blaming Palestinians for the attacks. Any cruelty by Israeli will be reflected to them since they are their closes ally in the Middle East. I cannot wait to see Barack Obama’s new policy & promises to voters which elected him as president.

What about the Arabs nation. They are the closes to Palestine. When their fellow neighbours in jeopardy what do they do to help?

The failure of strict policy by U.S will only turns more moderate Muslims to extremist. More Osama Laden like personnel will emerge whether the world wants it or not.

Malaysian & Politics On this Issue

Sad to hear only 500 people participate in demo against the cruelty of this madness compared to political rally. Are Malaysian more interested in joining political based rally such as “Jerit” & “Hindraf” rather than this caused.

I duly respect Tun on his firm stands on this issue all the while. He’s among the leaders of the world which really against & condemns Israel. Even he is among the figure which Israel really hates due to this.

What about other political leaders? I must say all political quarters should make a statement against this & make events to condemn this.
I would like to see leaders from every different quarter of parties together in a rally to condemns this. Can we? Why cant leaders from PAS, DAP, UMNO, PKR, MCA, MIC & others make a small rally condemning this ?

What Should We Do.

Can we do something about it? Yes, we can. But we are reluctant to do so. We are not willing to sacrifice our lifestyle for the sake of people half way around the world of which we have no common grounds except for our religion

Perhaps we should stop buying Israel products as a protest of Israel's aggressions. Let's start with the persimmons. Government should ban the import of Israel persimmons. Buy from China or other places.

As a Muslim, what I can do is send my prayers & doa’ to those effected & hope that may the gods repay back the blood debts created by the Zionist. I also suggest that in one day all mosques in the world should donate their entire Friday prayers donation just to help Palestine (only one day should help them). Maybe we can start in Malaysians mosque 1st.

It is obligatory on Muslims everywhere to seek peace but not war at any price.

My muslims brothers in GAZA. May Allah helps you on this war upon you.

PPSMI : Wajarkah diteruskan @ dibatalkan?

Sudah sedia maklum byk perbezaan pendapat bila berhadapan dgn Isu ini. Terbaru apabila GAPENA mengungut utk menyaman Kementerian Pelajaran. Syabas saya ucapkan. Nyata GAPENA amat tegas bila berhadapan dgn Isu ini.

Malah website @ gerakan anti-PPSMI telahpun ditubuhkan & mendapat sokongan byk pihak. PKPIM juga merupakan antara badan NGO yg menentang perlaksanaan PPSMI.

Saya sebenar pada awalnya berbelah bagi bila berhadapan isu ini pada masa lalu. Tetapi keadaan telah berubah bilamana 'feedback' dr rakan2 guru di pedalaman menyatakan PPSMI hanya akan menyisihkan pelajar luar bandar. Siapa lagi yg patut beri pendapat? Adakah persidangan meja bulat yg dihadiri oleh cerdik pandai & intelektual ?
Saya berpendapat org yg paling layak merupakan guru2 di pedalaman adalah insan malaysia yg paling layak memberikan pendapat dalam isu ini.

Kepada pihak kementerian & ahli2 meja bulat! Tidakkah mereka pergi melihat, membuat kajian & mencari 'feedback' pada pelajar2 pedalaman? Tidakkah mereka bertanya pada guru2 yg penat lelah jerih mengajar dlm bahasa yg tidak difahami oleh murid? Adakah sanggup kerajaan mengorbankan pelajar2 luar bandar hanya utk memenuhi selera sesetengah intelektual & pelajar2 bandar. Lebih kajian diperlukan utk mengesan impak kehadapan bila perkara ini dilaksanakan.
Sebenarnya telah ada kajian2 luar mengenai impak PPSMI patut dijadikan renungan :

UNESCO.

Laporan pakar-pakar pendidikan luar negara dan UNESCOmenunjukkan bahawa perubahan bahasa pengantar dalam keadaan kanak-kanakmasih belum menguasai bahasa ibunda akan memburukkan prestasi pembelajaranmereka. Ini kerana kanak-kanak seharusnya menggunakan bahasa yang merekapaling fahami untuk tujuan belajar supaya mencapai keberkesanan pembelajaranyang optimum, terutamanya dalam mata pelajaran Sains dan Matematik.

Sekalipun menggunakan bahasa ibunda, kedua-dua mata pelajaran ini masih menjadi satumasalah untuk dikuasai sepenuhnya, maka sekiranya bahasa asing yang merekakurang biasa dijadikan bahasa pengantar bagi mata pelajaran Sains dan Matematik,sudah pasti menjejaskan keberkesanan pembelajaran dengan teruk sekali.

Kajian luar negara membuktikan bahawa penggunaan bahasa kedua atau bahasaselain daripada bahasa ibunda dalam peringkat awal persekolahan akan membawakesan negatif terhadap perkembangan daya pemikiran kanak-kanak danmenyebabkan kemerosotan prestasi akademik dalam mata pelajaran Sains,Matematik dan bahasa. Maka, kepentingan pendidikan bahasa ibunda amatditegaskan oleh pakar-pakar pendidikan luar negara dan UNESCO.

KONGRESS PENDIDIKAN MELAYU.

Kongres Pendidikan Melayu Ke-2 yang dianjurkan pada bulan Mac 2005,secara lantang menunjukkan bahawa kira-kira 500 ribu orang pelajar Melayu akan keciciran dalam Sains dan Matematik akibat kegagalan menguasaibahasa Inggeris. Tidak dilupa tentangan juga diterima daripada pihak2 SJK Tamil & Cina.

Perlaksaan PPSMI pada saya harus ditentang kerana tiada manfaatnya pada pelajar di peringkat awal. Apa masalahnya kalau belajar dalam Bahasa Malaysia @ dwi-bahasa? Jgn kita bebankan lagi murid2 yg rata2 berumur lingkungan 7-12 tahun dgn 'high expectation' drpd kita. Jika tujuan adalah utk meningkatkan penguasaan Bahasa Inggeris terlalu byk cara lain yg berkesan. Ini adalah antara cara 'simple' pihak kementerian boleh laksanakan demi utk meningkatkan penguasaan bahasa kedua ini :-

1- Menganjurkan lebih byk pertandingan debat / kuiz sains & matematik dlm bahasa inggeris di luar bandar.
2- Menganjurkan seminar bahasa inggeris yg wajib dihadiri oleh pelajar2 sekolah. (ala2 PLKN). Terutama pada pelajar2 yg lemah bahasa inggeris.
3- Menambahkan lebih byk tenaga pengajar di bidang bahasa inggeris.
4- Buat kempen supaya ibu bapa mengasuh menggunakan bahasa Inggeris dirumah.

Banyak lagi cadangan mungkin boleh dibincangkan utk meningkatkan penguasaan bahasa universal (BI) ttp jgnlah sehinggakan Bahasa Malaysia dianaktirikan sedemikian rupa.

Syabas diucapkan pada Dato' Khir Toyo yg juga bertegas menentang pelaksanaan PPSMI. Malah beliau juga memberikan pendapat yg baik dlm menambah baikkan keberkesanan PPSMI. Adalah hairan bilamana kebanyakan ahli politik tidak bersuara bila berhadapan dgn isu ini.

Di mana PAS dalam isu memperjuangkan Bahasa Melayu dalam Matematik dan Sains (PPSMI)?
Mereka lantang mengkritik bila berhadapan dgn isu2 tertentu. Ttp dalam isu ini, tidak terdengar kenyataan pimpinan tertinggi dlm berhadapan isu ini meskipun pada permulaan dahulunya merekalah yg menentang idea tersebut. Kenapa sekarang diam membisu?

Dimana suara PKR sedangkan didalam Kongress mereka baru2 ini ada perwakilan guru yg menaikkan isu tersebut ? Kenapa Dato' Seri Anwar diam membisu isu ini? Adakah takut hilang penyokong ?

Dimana lagi suara2 pejuang2 Bahasa Kebangsaan yg lain. Mana suara2 kepimpinan UMNO yg lain? Jgn hanya berckp soal bangsa ttp asas bahasa tidak dipertahankan.

Kesimpulannya perlaksaan PPSMI hanya akan mengkronikkan masalah keciciran pelajar hatta akan meningkatkan jurang perbezaan bandar vs Luar bandar. Jgnlah jadi seperti "Kera di hutan disusukan, anak dirumah mati kelaparan".

Ujian Saringan HIV & Islam

Cadangan kerajaan utk mewajibkan Ujian Saringan HIV dilihat sbg cadangan yg amat bernas. Malahan terdapat negeri2 yg telah melaksanakan ujian saringan tersebut iaitu Negeri Johor & juga bbrp negeri lain.

Pada pandangan saya, ini merupakan idea yg baik. Jika hak asasi manusia yg dijadikan Isu. Apa pula hak sbg bakal isteri & bakal anak yg dikandung. Jgn dilihat ujian ini sbg penghalang kepada mereka2 yg nak berkahwin. Malah ujian ini amat bagus memandangkn pasangan akan mengetahui keadaan kesihatan pasangan masing2 sebelum berkahwin.

Hanya mereka2 yg mempunyai gaya hidup tidak sihat sahaja yg mungkin takut pada cadangan tersebut. Saya lihat cadangan tersebut menjadi salah satu faktor utk tidak melakukan maksiat. (Sekurang2nya ada satu lagi faktor rasa takut pada insan utk melakukan dosa).

Pada NGO yg diwakili oleh bukan Islam. Kenapa perlu bantah pada cadangan yg hanya akan dilaksanakan kpd org2 Islam. Cukuplah 'interfear' dgn agama org lain. Ini merupakan cadangan kepada pasangan iSlam sahaja.. Saya tidak nampak ia tidak dpt dilaksanakan kerana ia telah lama dipraktikkan oleh negeri JOHOR & kebanyakan negeri.

Tidak lupa jugak, kita tidak perlulah pandangan yg ekstrim yaitu "pembawa perlu dikuarantin". Jgn lah sampai mcm tu. Tak eloklah. Dia pun manusia juga. Mungkin bukan atas kehendak dia menjadi pembawa HIV. Biarlah mereka mendapatkan rawatan yg sewajarnya & jika pasangan masing2 tidak kisah mereka pembawa HIV maka teruslah berkahwin. Bukan bermakna jika salah satu pasangan dikesan sbg positif maka Jabatan agama ISlam akan menghalang mereka berkahwin. Sesi kaunseling akan diadakan utk mmberitahu risiko perkahwinan kepada pasangan. Dan jika pasangan masih mahu berkahwin saya rasa Jabatan Agama tiada halangan.

Saya cadangkan jika kebanyakan rakyat bersetuju dgn saranan ini perlu diperluaskan lagi kepada semua pasangan di seluruh malaysia tidak kira islam @ bukan ISlam.

Saranan ujian ini mendapat reaksi baik dr ahli2 politik, akedemik, NGO, Institusi Raja malahan org ramai. Saya amat kagum pada pertama kalinya saya lihat terdapat titik pertemuan @ kesepakatan dlm sesuatu isu. Kenyataan dr Dato' Najib, Ir Nizar & juga Tengku Mahkota Pahang menunjukkan perkembangan yg menarik dlm politik & kepimpinan tanahair.

1st Class Treatment? A look into Bukit Antarabangsa Tragedy.

It's quite a while we've been bombarded with issues of Bukit Antarabangsa landslide. I must say that we have highlighted this issue quite excessively. It's pretty awkward to see why this issue having such a huge attention by media compared to other natural disaster? Is it because of people living in it? Is it because because of Urban area's ? Or people see its a political ground for some people to gain support.

Whatever it is i think the authorities whether its the state or federal government are giving them a 1st class treatment compared to other tragedy or natural disaster in our country.

Let me re-cap some of the tragedy in Malaysia this couple of years.

Let see.. We have tsunami in 2001, we have Johor flood last year, flood in Kedah, Kelantan & terengganu recently, not to forget "ribut" in Selangor this year & many more. There's a lot of natural disaster occurs every now & then.

We need to look on why this disaster keep happening more & more often.

As a Muslim i believe this act of God are giving all of us a gentle reminder on what's happening to our community. It can also be interprets as a test to malaysians.

Come back to the subject, i'm surprised to hear comments by ministers, Selangor MB & even political figure trying to be champions on this issues. All the action taken & statements shows how important these people living in Bukit Antarabangsa compared to the rural rakyat around malaysia. Or may i call it double standard. Let see how statement & actions of our leader compared to other event in malaysia.

*Even MB suggest to give them good accommodations hotel with half price by state government? -why this such treatment occurs only for this people? why there's no such statement given to flood victims & storm victims in Selangor before this? Let them live in school like the rest of other victims around Malaysia. Why should we give them 1st class treatment in a expense of tax payers money.?

* Even Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin suggested the effected people been provided with free hotels.

* We also can see state government leaders such as MB Khalid Ibrahim at the scene every now & then. --Hm.. Funny. I still can recall his statement before "Buang masa lawat mangsa" on visiting storm victims in Klang as a waste of time.. This is yet another example of double standard practise by our so call leaders.. Why so different by this tragedy then? Maybe now he has a lot of spare time or political purpose?

*Even permanent bridge were set up instantly. Kudos. - Compared to what happen in Sabah & Sarawak. They were left for several weeks before roads were restored. Maybe this rural folk dint have that high connection & less vocal that's why they're left out. This kind of action maybe does not applies to rural people perhaps?

For me i see HEROES of this tragedy will be the enforcement agency, police, military & people who's entirely directly helping with victims & affected residents in Bukit Antarabangsa.

However, I'm quite sad to see alligation towards military officers & rumors spreading condemning this highly committed personnel. They've been there for quite some time & always be there when we need them the most.

Yet, a simple thank you were not given but only condemnation were spread out. This is what they get by giving them a 1st class treatment. The latest of this saga episode is today's news on accusation looting by officers by the Bkt Antarabangsa resident. If i were the officer I'll just simply walk out of the horror place.

There's a lot of stuff more i can highlighted here to show how double standard our society is. The main Tv medias (Tv3, Astro, Tv1&2, NtV7 & etc), newspapers (chinese news, malay news, star, indian news papers), politicians & our so call leaders.

Maybe they intend to see when disaster happen in city areas it reflects like a country's disaster but yet when it happens to rural folk its considered as an act of nature & simply forgotten in a few days time. This is really unfair & double standard.

I really urge double standard attitude shall be stop by all parties. Please follow the example of our Royal army that always there to support the people (when disaster occurs) without hesitate.

p/s: I really pity the rural folks when this issues confirmed & classified them as a second citizen.

KUALA LUMPUR Monday December 1, 2008 : Umno Youth chief aspirant Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir has called on the Government to abolish the vernacular school system as a means to enhance unity among people of various races.

He said a single school system was the only way to check the racial polarisation that was getting out of control in the country.

“The government should consider introducing only one school system with Bahasa Malaysia as the medium of instruction, except for Science and Mathematics which are already being taught in English.

“Of course, pupils should then be given the option to study their mother tongues. Under this system, the Malays will also have the option of studying other languages like Mandarin and Tamil and this will further boost unity among them,” he told reporters at Parliament House on Monday.

The Umno Youth exco member said it was time for Malaysia to do away with the dual school system, which was practised by only a handful of countries in the world, as it had contributed to the problem of disunity in the country.

He said over 99% of countries in the world practised a single school system.
He expressed hope that leaders of Barisan Nasional component parties would not take his suggestion in a negative light as it was only meant as a suggestion to resolve, once and for all, the problem of racial polarisation affecting the citizenry.

“If they reject this suggestion, then they should explain why they are against it. How is it possible for them on one hand to talk about unity and question Malay rights, while on the other hand still insist on having a different school system for their race?
“If you want equal rights then you cannot have a different school system. You cannot have your cake and eat it too,” he added.

He also urged all parties to stop harping on issues that could create tension among Barisan component parties, including on the issue of Ketuanan Melayu or Malay supremacy.
Lately, he said, there were many statements made by leaders of component parties that had the potential to create anger among the Malays and Umno members.

“If they insist on making statements on that issue, then do not be surprised if the Malays start talking about the economic supremacy of the non-Malays.

“Despite all that has been said on the issue of Malay supremacy, the Malays do not feel in any ---way superior or the master when it comes to the country’s economy,” he said.

At last somebody have the guts to speak. Dato' Mukriz i salute u. I hope more MP's from UMNO, PKR & PAS are supporting this. Why can't we assimilate with other races. A lot of blogger are talking about this since a long time. I've also express my feeling towards this issue last month in one of my article. The non-malay spoke openly about malay rights, ketuanan melayu & other thing. Let us see how will they react by this.

I'm not surprise if they call Dato Mukriz a racist :).

I really hope that UMNO leaders will support this ideas & PKR leader DSAI have the guts to support it as well. Also can't wait to see what DAP have to say & PAS as well. Oh not to forget MCA MIC & Gerakan. :)

We can see now who are the true leader of unity & equality which will leads us in the years to come. Not like some so called leaders which take issues selectively for political reason.

Road Sign/ Papan Tanda Issue ?

Landmarks or ‘papan tanda’. Should we go against or support?

What’s your choice? What’s your stand? Probably for some of us it does not mean anything. But for others it does mean something.

Let us see from Other Perspective shall we.

From one point of view, this additional name (in other language) is actually for tourist attraction & to accommodate the tourist itself. Hm.. If that’s the case two language is not enough. Probably put some ‘France language’ or ‘Sweden language’ or ‘Norwegian language’ etc. Perhaps we should target this kind of tourist since the spending $$$ power is even greater than Indian, Arabs or Chinese Citizen.

On second thought should we go against it? I must say this might seems rather childish to make a fuss such a simple issue. After all, the public should have complained to PBT the used of other language (other than BM or BI) on advertisement & shop signs. Don’t be selective on issues related to politics. It’s been quite a while & if you guys notice there’s a lot of shops it in Johor Bharu or Penang having non-approved signs (other language than BM or BI). The used of fully other language is quite a surprise without action from PBT (Pihak Berkuasa Tempatan).

Well some may say, “its just politics” & some politicised the issue. I think both party politicised the issue. It is two parties trying to get support from the public. They don’t know in a way there making our more split due to this idiotic issue. (I blame both party)

In the mean time, the government should make an amendment of the law on usage of language. Prioritise national language & make it compulsory. Maybe some exception can be given to certain areas for other areas. Make it a clear guideline & discuss. When it been gazetted then nobody can question it. I think this in a way will clear the problem. Now there are a lot of grey areas & different people interpret their own way.

Honestly, I’m against the suggestion. For me why we make something out of nothing? What bring it up? It’s like installing a toilet in the middle of public areas. Some will be against it & of course upset people. And some will be supporting even though they are not suggested or used one. But at the end of the day you can make both parties happy by not having one. Just scarp the idea.

Cheaper 'Roti'.. Does it makes any different.

Its the headline of the day. :) Why am i not surprise at all.

The price of fuel already came done at least 70 cent. But roti & teh tarik price drop only around 10-20 cent. Is this the best that the 200 restaurant can come up. The price should be at least the same as before. I'm surprise now days how much RM 1.00 is no longer invalid in restaurants or mamak stall. Even teh tarik will be around RM 1.20 now days.

If u think about it, its quite difficult to get a decent meal with drink in KL or Selangor with around RM 5.00 budget. I always venture the time when i get back to my hometown in Langkawi Island & enjoy all the great food with affordable price.

Who to blame then? Is it the government?

Nah don't be like the opposition. Blame everything to the government. (that's another different story)

Blame the supermarkets & groceries shop?

Well for the groceries shop they are talking about blaming the supermarket giving them hard times. I applause supermarkets given consumers great price slash even though they are actually 'main wayang' on the price. (One price down others went up) But of course the customer don't realise that.

Who to blame then?

The answer is OURSELF..

Why? We have a choice to choose which place to shop, eat, & even where do we have nice chit-chat with our friends or like we always says "lepak" at mamak stall.

But even if we realise it, we still goes to the same place all over again & end up complaining.

Then stop blaming other for our misfortune! Grow UP.. (Same goes to me as well).

Suggestion :-

The newspaper as voice of the people must make a campaign to publish restaurants & 'gerai makan' which having a low price tags. These should encourage others to follow their steps to provide good meals with decent price. ONly my two cents.

Singapura belum sedia pilih PM bukan Cina – Hsien Loong

SINGAPURA 9 Nov. – Perdana Menteri Singapura, Lee Hsien Loong berpendapat republik ini yang mempunyai penduduk berbilang kaum berjumlah lebih 3.5 juta orang, belum bersedia untuk memilih Perdana Menteri bukan Cina dalam tempoh terdekat.

Hsien Loong membuat kenyataan itu semalam semasa dialog dengan anggota masyarakat Melayu di sini sebagai menjawab soalan sama ada pemilihan Barack Obama sebagai Presiden kulit hitam pertama Amerika Syarikat (AS) bermakna anggota kaum minoriti di negara ini juga berpeluang untuk menjadi Perdana Menteri.

“Kemungkinannya ada, ini bergantung kepada cara penduduk mengundi dan siapa yang mendapat keyakinan rakyat.“Adakah ini akan berlaku tidak lama lagi? Saya tidak fikir begitu kerana seseorang perlu memenangi undi,” kata Hsien Loong menurut laporan akhbar Sunday Times hari ini.Beliau berkata, sentimen yang mendorong seseorang mengundi calon tertentu akan memakan masa yang lama untuk hapus sama sekali.

Kira-kira 75 peratus daripada 3.64 juta penduduk tetap Singapura ialah kaum Cina, sementara hampir 14 peratus merupakan kaum Melayu dan sembilan peratus lagi kaum India.Jawatan Presiden Singapura yang tidak memiliki kuasa sebenar disandang oleh seorang yang berketurunan India.

Seorang daripada dua Timbalan Perdana Menteri Singapura serta tiga menteri dalam Kabinet Hsien Loong juga daripada kaum India.

Tidak terkejut mendengar kenyataan berikut drpd PM Singapura. Inilah bakal jadinya pada Malaysia jika Hak Keistimewaan Org Melayu dihapuskan. Sedih melihat negara yg mempunyai 14% Kaum Melayu dinafikan hak utk sama2 memerintah negara. Tidak seorg pun Menteri Kabinet daripada Kaum Minoriti. Jika dibandingkan dgn Malaysia kaum minoriti lebih bertuah. Disamping mempunyai ramai yg memegang portfolia Menteri mereka juga memegang banyak jawatan dlm badan kerajaan, Kerajaan negeri & lain-lain. Mestipun MP kaum lain (BN) kalah teruk dlm PRU-12 kerajaan masih tidak mengusik kuota kaum atas dasar semangat setiakawan. Tetapi madu dibalas tuba.

Kerajaan singapura juga tidak sebebas yg disangka. Disamping mengamalkan ISA di negaranya juga (targetnya byk kepada org Islam) negaranya juga tidak mengamalkan hak kebebasan bersuara. Tgklah bagaimana JB Jeyaretnam (seorg Opposition fighter) telah beberapa kali bankrup di saman oleh kerabat2 LeeKuanYew. Tetapi apakan daya itu cara mereka. Tetapi sekarang dengan bangganya menjadi ikutan pula oleh sesetengah MP di Malaysia sendiri (yg kononnya fight for fredom of press)..

Akhir kata.. Renunglah kata2 PM Singapura & inilah sepatutnya jawapan PM Malaysia jika ditanya soalan serupa. Kepada non-malay friends, maaf kerana terpaksa bersuara soal ini. Tetapi inilah hakikatnya & inilah yg ditakuti oleh org melayu.

Seorg melayu Singapura pernah berkata kepada saya "Lihatlah kami seperti menumpang di negara sendiri, jgnlah jadi begini di Malaysia"... "Walau apapun pun jangan sesekali pergadaikan hak anta di Malaysia!!"

Hindraf & Hari Raya

1st I would like to apologize to Indian friends & blogger that support hindraf. The act of some hindraf supporters recently really shock me. And also make me have double though on the "Pertubuhan Haram Hindraf". Yes, as in the Akta Pertubuhan Hindraf is still a non-registered Organisation.

For me this pertubuhan is same like Al-Maunah, Al-Arqam & other related pertubuhan that the government banned. Though actually the government is quite lineant on this movement. If its the era of Tuns M i bet they will get caught even before the protest begins.

Anyway not to divert what i want to say today. I've quite disappointed on that day (1st Syawal) which supposed to be the celebration day for Muslims was been tainted with the incident. Never in 51 years of our independent such incident had happened.

& Yes of course Muslims are anger. No need to blame Utusan or media. The question is such event taken place in the holy day for Muslims. For majority of Muslims, we cannot tolerate this for whatever reason is.

Hopefully this kind of event will be the last. comments

Revision of Subsidy System - How much u are getting subsidy previously?

Is the subsidy system fair & effective for the people of Malaysia?
I think you will think twice & when you read my opinion below.

1)A company which has a lot of his staff travelling
Car : various car
Fuel Consumption : 5000 liter/month
Subsidy : 0.70 cent
Total subsidy receive : RM 3500.00

2)Myself
Car :- Sedan car 1.6 CBU
Fuel Consumption : 1000 liter/month (my work intends me to travel a lot)
Subsidy : 0.70 cent
Total subsidy i receive : RM 700.00/month

3)My neighbour
Car : Proton Wira
Fuel Consumption : 500 liter/month
Subsidy : 0.70 cent
Total subsidy i receive : RM 350.00/month

4)Fellow rural people in Langkawi for example.
Fuel Consumption : 50 liter/month
Subsidy : 0.70 cent
Total subsidy i receive : RM 35.00/month

5)Lastly, All the Pakcik2 & makcik in Kampung who use motorcycle
Fuel consumption :- 10 liter/month
Subsidy :- let say 0.70sen
Subsidy per/month :- RM 7.00

I think by now you already understand what I'm trying to highlight here.
Do you think myself & company eligible to get the subsidy? This is just an example, imagine there's a lot of people in city's falls under category 1, 2 & 3. Probably 80% of the consumer of fuel are from urban areas. Well, that's quite a lot for people getting it. What about the rural people? The one that really need help? Is it fair for us in urban getting a lot of subsidy when the rural people getting so less.

If we translate it into money wise. Actually the rural people only get RM 84.00/year. Instate
of myself getting RM 8400.00/year. Is it fair?

The current system of subsidy actually are not fair at all. It will only protects or give advantage to urban people which will makes the rich gets richer & the poor gets poorer. It is good that the government float the fuel price according to international price same as what United States & other states are doing. Even if they want to give subsidy just a little bit just to show the government are giving back. RM 0.30

Some say the subsidy effected food prices & they are really pity the poor. Yes. I agree. Having said that the subsidy previously been given to no 1. 2 & 3 should be channeled back to the poor people. Probably give subsidy in terms of food & other related stuff which will have a great impact to them.

That's the idea. That's why i think that the previous subsidy system are not relevant anymore. If the current system now still question mark due to still the rich will benefit the most.
Because the subsidy only benefit the rich people who i think does not deserve it.

Petronas Staff Speaks-- Other Perspektif

I've received an explanation by petronas staff on how they fell at the moment especially against allegation to Petronas.. Please spare your thoughts on how they feel.

Dear all, After reading all the chain mai ls and blogs, I feel called to reply, because of the relentless attacks and allegations -- most of which are inaccurate or baseless -- against
PETRONAS.

PETRONAS' STAFF SALARY & BONUS

1) The salaries paid to PETRONAS' employees are not as high as people think. At best, they are just industry average. And these are not attractive enough for some who left PETRONAS to find work at other companies ( mai nly from the Middle East ) which are willing to pay more. Why do they pay more? The oil and gas industry worldwide has been facing acute shortage of qualified or experienced personnel, so most companies are willing to pay lots of money to entice and pinch staff from their competitors.Bonus? There has NEVER been a bonus amounting to 6 months or 12 months throughout the 33 years. On average, it is 2 months. But don't ever think we don't deserve it. We more than deserve it. A lot of us work really hard, some in the most extreme of conditions. Those who have been to and worked in northern Sudan , for example, would testify that it's like working in a huge blower oven. Southern Sudan , on the other hand, is almost all swamps and mud. Imagine having to go through that kind of heat, or waddling in muddy swamps, day in and day out.

QUALITY OF CRUDE & REFINED PRODUCTS

2) Malaysia produces about 600,000 barrels of crude oil per day (and about 100,000 barrels condensate). Of this crude volume, 339,000 barrels are refined locally for local consumption. The rest is exported (and yes, because it has lower sulphur content it fetches higher prices).Malaysia also imports about 230,000 barrels of crude oil per day, mai nly from the Middle East , to be refined here. This crude oil contains higher sulphur and is less expensive (so the country gains more by exporting our crudes). In Malaysia , this crude is processed by PETRONAS at its second refinery in Melaka, and also by Shell at its Port Dickson refinery.Different refineries are built and configurated to refine different types of crude. And each crude type yields different percentage of products (diesel, gasoline, kerosene, cooking gas etc) per barrel. But most importantly, products that come out at the end of the refining process have the same good quality regardless of the crude types. That's why PETRONAS, Shell and Exxon Mobil share the same pipeline to transport the finished products from their refineries to a distribution centre in the Klang Valley . The three companies collect the products at this centre accordingly to be distributed to their respective distribution networks. What makes PETRONAS' petrol different from Shell's, for example, is the additive that each company adds.

PETRONAS' ROLE, FUNCTION & CONTRIBUTION

3) A lot of people also do not understand the role and function of PETRONAS, which is essentially a company, a business entity, which operates on a commercial manner, to mai nly generate income and value for its shareholder. In this case, PETRONAS' shareholder is the Government. In 1974, when PETRONAS was set up, the Government gave PETRONAS RM10 million (peanuts, right?) as seed capital. From 1974 to 2007, PETRONAS made RM570 billion in accumulated profits, and returned to the Government a total of RM335.7 billion. That is about 65% of the profits. That means for every RM1 that PETRONAS makes, 65 sen goes back to the Government.Last year, PETRONAS made a pre-tax profit of RM86.8 billion. The amount given back to the Government (in royalty, dividends, corporate income tax, petroleum products income tax and export duty) was RM52.3 billion. The rest of the profit was used to pay off minority interests and taxes in foreign countries (about RM7.8 billion - PETRONAS now operates in more than 30 countries), and the re mai ning RM26.7 billion was reinvested. The amount reinvested seems a lot, but the oil and gas industry is technology- and capital-intensive. Costs have gone up exponentially in the last couple of years. Previously, to drill a well, it cost about US$3 million; now it costs US$7 million. The use of rigs was US$200,000 a day a couple of years ago; now it costs US$600,000 a day. A lot of people also do not realise that the amount returned by PETRONAS to the Government makes up 35% of the Government's total annual income, to be used by the Government for expenditures, development, operations, and yes, for the various subsidies. That means for every RM1 the Government makes, 35 sen is contributed by PETRONAS. So, instead of asking what happens to PETRIONAS' money or profits, people should be questioning how the money paid by PETRONAS to the Government is allocated.

CRUDE EXPORTS & FUEL PRICES

4) A lot of people also ask, why Malaysia exports its crude oil. Shouldn't we just stop exporting and sell at cheaper prices to local refiners? If Malaysia is an oil exporting country, why can't we sell petrol or diesel at cheaper prices like other oil producing countries in the Middle East ?I guess I don't have to answer the first couple of questions. It's simple economics, and crude oil is a global commodity.Why can't we sell petrol and diesel at lower prices like in the Middle East ? Well, comparing Saudi Arabia and other big producers to Malaysia is like comparing kurma to durian, because these Middle Eastern countries have much, much, much bigger oil and gas reserves.Malaysia has only 5.4 billion barrels of oil reserves, and about 89 trillion cubic feet of gas. Compare that to Saudi Arabia 's 260 billion barrels of oil and 240 trillion cubic feet of gas. Malaysia only produces 600,000 barrels per day of oil. Saudi Arabia produces 9 million barrels per day. At this rate, Saudi Arabia 's crude oil sales revenue could amount to US$1.2 billion per day! At this rate, it can practically afford almost everything -- free education, healthcare, etc, and subsidies -- for its people.But if we look at these countries closely, they have in the past few years started to come up with policies and strategies designed to prolong their reserves and diversify their income bases. In this sense, Malaysia (and PETRONAS) has had a good head start, as we have been doing this a long time.Fuel prices in Malaysia is controlled by the Government based on a formula under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism introduced more than a couple of decades ago. It is under this mechanism that the complex calculation of prices is made, based on the actual cost of petrol or diesel, the operating costs, margin for dealers, margin for retail oil companies (including PETRONAS Dagangan Bhd) and the balancing number of duty or subsidy. No retail oil companies or dealers actually make money from the hike of the fuel prices. Oil companies pay for the products at market prices, but have to sell low, so the Government reimburses the difference -- thus subsidy.Subsidy as a concept is OK as long as it benefits the really deserving segment of the population. But there has to be a limit to how much and how long the Government should bear and sustain subsidy. An environment where prices are kept artificially low indefinitely will not do anyone any good. That's why countries like Indonesia are more pro-active in removing subsidies. Even Vietnam (which is a socialist country, by the way) is selling fuel at market prices.

PETRONAS & TRANSPARENCY

5) I feel I also need to say something on the allegation that PETRONAS is not transparent in terms of its accounts, business transactions etc.PETRONAS is first and foremost a company, operating under the rules and regulations of the authorities including the Registrar of Companies, and the Securities Commission and Bursa Malaysia for its listed four subsidiaries (PETRONAS Dagangan Bhd, PETRONAS Gas Bhd, MISC Bhd and KLCC Property Holdings Bhd.PETRONAS the holding company produces annual reports which are made to whomever wants them, and are distributed to many parties and places; including to the library at the Parliament House for perusal and reading pleasure of all Yang Berhormat MPs (if they care to read). PETRONAS also makes the annual report available on its website, for those who bother to look. The accounts are duly audited. The website also contains a lot of useful information, if people really care to find out. Although PETRONAS is not listed on Bursa Malaysia , for all intents and purposes, it could be considered a listed entity as its bonds and financial papers are traded overseas. This requires scrutiny from investors, and from rating agencies such as Standard & Poor and Moody's.

BOYCOTT PETRONAS?

6) The last time I checked, this is still a democratic country, where people are free to spend their money wherever they like. For those who like to see more of the money that they spend go back to the local economy and benefiting their fellow Malaysians, perhaps they should consider sticking to local products or companies. For those who like to see that the money they spend go back to foreign shareholders of the foreign companies overseas, they should continue buying foreign products.

FINAL WORD (FOR TODAY)

I'm sorry this is rather long, but I just have to convey it. I hope this would help some of you out there understand something. The oil and gas industry, apart from being very capital intensive, is also very complex and volatile.
